BACKGROUND
A new University of Sierra Leone was reconstituted as a result of the Universities Act of 2005 comprising Fourah Bay College, founded in 1827, the Institute of Public Administration and Management (IPAM) founded in 1980 and the College of Medicine and Allied Health Sciences (COMAHS), founded in 1988. Njala University College which used to be a constituent College of the former University of Sierra Leone is now an autonomous institution renamed Njala University.
We at The Universsity of Sierrra Leone place great importance on the maintenance of high standards and quality control so that our graduates can compete competitively in the job market both locally and internationally. We now operate a two semester system as opposed to the three terms system of the old University of Sierra Leone. With the exception of College of Medicine and Allied Health Sciences, we have now gone modular in keeping with modern trends of assessment in University education worldwide.
We are student-centered and strive toward providing a high quality education with adequate resources and a minimum of stress. We invite you to participate in this experience as a student, faculty, staff, or visitor.
